STYLE EYE ON: SIOBAHN PEAY

While at District of Curves Fashion Week,  I met Siobahn Peay.  I had seen this designer at Curvy Rock Weekend 2014 so it was good to see she was still grinding out some amazing designs.  I wanted to highlight the designer because I think everyone should own one of her circle skirts and two, I love wearing independent designers and highlighting them.  It opens up my stylistas to more designers and keeps you looking like an individual.
Below is my interview and photos of her collection

Enjoy...

NEC:  Give me a little history on you as a designer and Siobahn Peay.
SP: I had my first runway show with a mini collection in Spring 2014! I have been in business for 2 years. 2016 marks my sophomore year as a designer and creator. I look forward to the years to come!

NEC: How would you describe your line?
SP: I’ve been told that this mini collection is sexy and sophisticated! What  a combo! My collections are and will continue to be ready-to-wear with on-trend designs, making them perfect for women who want to make a bold statement while engaging in everyday activities, or a night out!

NEC: What made you want to become a designer?
SP: Designing is fun! Plain and simple! I’ve always loved to draw, so sketching came naturally…I wanted to see what I created on paper come to life!

NEC: How does your designs improve Plus Size fashion?
SP: I hope to make an impact on the world of plus size fashion by creating well-constructed, accessible, unique, and form flattering pieces without sacrificing style.

NEC: In the end what do u want your designs to be remembered for?
SP: When you try on a piece by Siobahn Peay, what was your initial reaction, confidence, sexiness? I want my pieces to be remembered for that. What is your motto? “Stop acting like a sheep when you know you a wolf!” This quote reminds me that I don’t have to “dumb-down” anything that I do, it reminds me to go about life with my head held high, never changing for anyone!

OOTD: MY CUSTOM DRESS FOR ESHAKTI

HELLO FASHIONISTAS!!!!

So its a little less than 4 days until my birthday (hold the happy birthdays song please lol). I wanted to share with you guy my outfit from Eshakti designs.
Eshakti is a web base retailer whos philosophy is "We design, you customize". They specialize in giving women the empowerment to liberate themselves from designer and the size tag.  Ranging in size from  0-36 and having a plethora of designs and styles makes the cite easy to shop for any women.

The great thing about customizing with Eshakti is you can have any neckline, length or sleeve you like.  So for my fashionistas who don't like bare arms you can change to have longer arms and dresses can be as long as maxi length or as short as mini.  With all the customization, your dress is unique to your taste and no can look alike.

Eshakti not only custom dresses but they have tops skirts and even special occasion dresses.  There are so many patterns and shapes there is defiantly something for someone.

Eshakti invited me to custom make a dress for my birthday. I picked this pattern of stripes and flowers and felt it was unique and perfect for my personality.

Orignal Dress

To customize my dress I decided to get rid of the sleeves and add pockets.
As soon as I took it out the box I fell in love. The fabric is not heavy so its defiantly something I can wear through the summer. I was glad I opted for pockets because I love a dress with pockets.

for colder nights, I'll add my pink moto jacket.

I was very pleased with this dress and encourage all women to try Eshakti today.   If you register today you will receive $30 off your first custom piece.  The cite also has items 20% off so you can save big. Click here to register and to shop and follow on Facebook for updates on sale and other deals.

FFFWEEK CURVES AT SEA 2016 BEST DRESS

Its that time of year again!!!! Full Figured Fashion Week 2016 was a full week for me this year.  The effects are still working on me that I was able to cover the event for Curvysta Magazine and very happy to share my best dress for the Curves at Sea Cruise.

Once again, I had the pleasure of seeing some amazing fashions for plus women and IN WHITE on the All white Cruise!!!

As for the fashion, there was a little bit of everything.  Suits, glitter, tutu's crop tops and  chiffon skirts.

Even though I was not able to attend this year I did get a chance to go through pictures from the night and one outfit stood out to me and I crown as best dress.
Before I say winner I wanted to give an honorable mention to two curvy women who showed up and SLAYED as well.
PLUS MODEL LIRIS SLAYING IN THIS FTF DRESS AND CAMEO DE BORE CLUTCH

MODEL WEMA ENOFE KILLED THIS WHITE CROP PANT AND DUSTER LOOK

But even though I was fab...I found an outfit that was better.  We all can agree that Tanesha Smart looks amazing!!!

ITS CROP...ITS SEXY....AND CONFIDENT WHITE
Congrats to Tanesha!!!! This ATL plus peach came to NYC and killed it all around.  Make sure to find her on FB to tell her congrats.

FULL FIGURED FASHION WEEK 2016 OUT FIT 2 "THE BIRDS"

Today was such a full day.  With the "Fit for Me" bloggers event, then the Fashion Week Press event and finally Marlyn Waynne blogger event I am so SO tired.
But I wanted my outfit to last through the day and stay fresh.  It was a bit chilly in nyc so I paired a skater skirt with matching top and a cape jacket.

For accessories I kept it simple with a statement necklace and small stud earrings.

You guys know I can't go anywhere without my shades so broke out my 1/2 rim shades to complete the look.

hen running from venue to venue my shoes have to be comfortable.  I decided to wear jeweled flats that matched my shirt color to complete the look

FULL FIGURED FASHION WEEK 2016 OUTFIT 1 "HOLD UP"

HEY STYLISTAS!!!!

SO FULL FIGURED FASHION WEEK 2016 HAS STARTED!!!!

So excited for this time of year and wanted to share my outfit with you guys.  I hope you all subscribed because the outfits will be flowing day by day.  My FFFweek started with attending blogger Darlene Lebron event "Redefining Healthy"

I decided to show off these thick legs and give a little cold shoulder.

The dress was purchased a few months back but with Beyoncé "Lemonade" mustard color has been the color of the summer.

I love this dress.  The length is perfect for the summer to break some necks with all this thigh.

Paired with gold accessories and a thin belt to give the dress some definition and done.
When your jumping from one event to the next you cant be too complicated

The dress is no longer available but here are other similar dresses to pick from for the summer.
