On the 12 (and last) day of Christmas my Fashion Fairy gave to me....

Eloquii Black and Gold Suit

 The New Year Collection (and 12 Dress countdown) ends with this gold & black printed suit from Eloquii. 
From the first time I put on the jacket I was in love.  I held it as my last outfit because nothing screams New Year like a black and gold suit. 

These Brooklyn Streets Not Ready For This!!!

Some will say that matching suit is too much but not for this Stylista!!!!
I feel if your going to stand out it might as well be in the best way possible. 

 I completed the suit with a white button down, black and white pumps, gold accessories and black/gold clutch.

To all my stylista I just wanted to end with saying Happy New Year!!! I hope to see you all next year and that we keep growing together.  I thank all of you who have been with me from the beginning and the stylistas who found me this year.  My New Year resolution is to keep bring the best I can to NEC STYLE .  NEC Style is my fashion blog but I do it to show that women of the 22+ size can and ARE stylish.  I resolve to bring you guys more and more and keep the love and positivity flowing.  I want to bring more products, makeup, fashion and brands that sizes for the plus size women.

12 DRESSES OF CHRISTMAS NO. 11: SPARKLE AND ROSE GOLD

 On the 11th day of Christmas my Fashion Fairy gave to me.....

Sequins Dress from Eloquii

 NOW THIS IS WHAT I CALL A PARTY DRESS!!!!

The sequins on the Eloquii dress changes change to gold, black, silver, yellow and pink sparkles as you run you hands across it.  I spent a good 10 min changing the colors on my dress the first time I tried it on.  (Side Bar: Mini me took one looked at me, shook her head and retreated back into her video games....oh well)

To keep  the party going I added more sparkle with my gold clutch bag and rose gold heels.  Two things to love about this bag: the gold chain and its ability to become a side bag.  Being from NYC,  I need a bag that I can change to go over my shoulder keeping my hands free. 
Added the rose gold strappy heels to complement the pink in the dress.

I didn't add any jewelry to this look (I am the sparkle and shine).

Just a little peplum leather jacket, I'm ready to party my New Years Eve Away!!!!

We LOVE preparing for Christmas morning the night before Christmas.  What better way to do it then in PJ's.  Wrapping gifts, checking off your list, fixing cookies and homemade cocoa is a tradition for Mini me and I. 

My Christmas gift to you guys is my homemade cocoa recipe.

N.E.C. Style Homemade Hot Cocoa

Ingredients

• 2 Hershey Milk Chocolate Bars
• ½ cup granulated sugar
• ⅓ cup hot water
• ⅛ tsp salt
• 4 cups milk (Dairy or non-dairy)
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• Whipped Cream to top
• Nutmeg
• Cinnamon

Instructions

1. Melt Chocolate bar in microwave
2. Combine the chocolate, sugar, water, and salt in a medium saucepan.
3. Over medium heat, stir constantly until the mixture simmers. Cook, stirring constantly for 1 minute.
4. Stir in the milk and heat, but do not boil.
5. Remove from the heat and add vanilla; stir well. .
6. Top with Cream, shake ground cinnamon and nutmeg on top. Serve immediately

Additions

Grown-up Flava: Add some Kahlua or peppermint flavored Delete repeated word

Want some Spice: Add some chili powder to step 2

 I wanted to do something with jeans that was still sexy.  This velvet trim body suit and velvet bra complements my curves perfectly. 

To add some edge I paired with a leather peplum jacket and for color my pompom heels.  Add dark jegging and we're ready to party the night away!!!

PRODUCT REVIEW: HONEYWELL HUMIDIFIER

I've always owned a Humidifier and use them quite frequently.  The air in my apartment  gets dry and hot and opening a window in the wintertime is not an option.  With a stuffy home, I needed a humidifier to keep the air feeling moist.

Also "mini me" has sinus and allergies so keeping the air moist in her room was a way to stop her from getting sick and missing days from school. 

as you can see,  we use humidifiers frequently and I've been through my share of humidifiers. 
The Honeywell Humidifier worked perfectly for my daughters room.  Hers had recently broke so thought this was a perfect opportunity to try in her room.  Her room is smaller so it was perfect fit for her dresser.  It was very quick and quiet.  Within seconds I could see the cool mist.
"Mini me" gives it two thumbs up!!!

Little Black Dress by Avenue

 A little black dress will always be the staple dress for the holiday.  When wearing a black dress, you want to add color to stop if from being dull.  For the dress, we added a punch of color in the shoes. 

As I was taking the photo I started to draw a small crowd which always worries me.  I wonder what's the stares are about? After looking at the photos I understood why.  The dotted dress and pompom shoes were perfect for a night on the town.  Plus when they see a plus girl with a dress up to her knees the marvel at her confidence.  Me....I didn't even notice.  It was a beautiful yet simple dress

Add a sequins belt to add some texture and define the waist.

 This year I attended the ugly sweater party thrown by FWF for the second year in a row.  I love this party SO much.  Its probably one of the most chill group of young black professional party groups I have been apart of and they throw AMAZING parties.

For my sweater I decided to wear my glasses and ears (just like my reindeer).  For makeup, I kept is simple and plain so my sweater shine in all its un-uglyness.

Yes I said it....ya girl has gone body con (but just for the holiday).  I don't wear bodycon (mostly because of the undergarments required to make it look good) but Simply Be makes a great bodycon for the over 24 women

I loved the floral and the dark burgundy color so much and thought it would be perfect dress to go from day to night.

Emerald Velvet from Eloquii

Fashion Fairy has done it again with this dress.  This dress had an amazing fit as soon as I put it on.  I love the festive velvet top and the ruffles played up the dress in the best way. Great dress for the holiday or for a cold night out with friends.  I added a thin gold belt to break up the green and kept it simple so the dress stood out. 

A simple red lip was all that I needed to complete this look

The movement of the dress was what I love the most.

On the second day of Christmas my Fashion Fairy gave to me....

 Glitter and off the Shoulder

I was very excited to attend my first Holiday Party with Dia&Co.  Also I got to wear my second outfit in my 12 dresses of Christmas.  No its not a dress but the Fashion Fairy wanted to show a little bit of glitter for the holiday.  Sequin pants defiantly put me in the spirit of Holiday and I cant wait to wear my next Holiday outfit.  Can I just say how great this off the shoulder sweater worked for me.  This defiantly will be a repeat offender.

I had such a good time.  I got a chance to meet with some of my blogger friends and meet the team of Dia&Co.  If you didn't know, Dia&Co. is a subscription fashion box for the plus size woman.  A box of fashionable items is curated by a stylist and shipped to your door step.
